Stuart Livingston Canton is a poet of Sacramento, California, where he is on the board of the
Sacramento Poetry Center, and has recently become editor of their quarterly online publication,
Poetry Now. He has won awards, including a Bazzanella Award from his alma mater California
State University, Sacramento, where he was an executive editor for the campus literary journal,
Calaveras Station, and hosted a regular reading series. His studies at CSUS led him to explore
surrealism and ecopoetics in his poetry, and these continue to inform his writing. He has
featured at Luna’s Cafe for Joe Montoya’s Poetry Unplugged, The Sacramento Poetry Center, and
at art events during the Second Saturday Art Walk, and he has hosted NSAA’s podcast, Coffee &
Poets. He has also been published several times in local publications like Brevities, The
American River Review, and “WTF!?”. He enjoys cooking almost as much as writing, and has
just barely more literature than cookbooks.
