Connie Gutowsky, Stan Zumbiel, Heather Judy and Katie Walker will be reading works that were generated from Josh McKinney’s prosody class conducted at Sacramento Poetry Center during the summer of 2015. Linda Collins and Melinda Rivasplata were also part of this group, but will be unable to join the festivities.
Connie Gutowsky is a criminal defense attorney who, if she could resurrect one poet to have over for dinner, would choose Wislawa Szymborska and serve pork chops with sauerkraut.
Stan Zumbiel taught English in middle and high school for 35 years. He lives in Fair Oaks, California where he can be found wearing suspenders 5 out of 7 days of the week . . . this is exactly the same ratio of pictures of him you will find on the internet where he is wearing suspenders.
Heather Judy is a painter and writer from Sacramento, California who is a former recipient of a Bazzanella Award for poetry.
Katie Walker is the Advancement Director for non-profit Sacramento Child Advocates.
