Dear SPC Community,
As of March 17, 2020, Sacramento County has issued an updated directive to county residents regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Among other restrictions, the new Sacramento County directive says there should be no gatherings of any size, and urges seniors 65 or older and those with chronic health conditions to stay home and avoid contact with people not in their household. The directive also instructs that all those at lower risk should stay home to the maximum extent possible, except when going to essential sites.
SPC firmly supports following these public health protocols, to protect all of us. To this end:
- The April 4, 2020 SPC Spring Conference is now CANCELED. The conference will return again in 2021, so mark your calendar for Saturday, April 3, 2021.
- In-person events at SPC are now CANCELED until further notice.
- SPC hopes to offer some online programming, so please stay tuned for announcements about this via email and on social media.
SPC will continue to assess public health guidance to determine when SPC can resume normal, in-person gatherings, and will notify the community via email and social media posts when this is the case.
SPC is grateful to the greater Sacramento poetry and wider literary arts community for its ongoing support of and engagement with SPC during this unusual time. The Center looks forward to reopening and to welcoming everyone back as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Stuart L Canton
